White Gables is a Holiday Cottage on the Solway Coast, in the beautiful village of Kippford, Dumfries and Galloway. The house is comfortable and peaceful, sleeps four and is dog friendly. It has central heating, a woodburning stove, and looks out over the estuary to the Galloway Hills beyond, with a private woodland to the rear. There is a true sense of privacy and it is 5 minutes walk to the water and the centre of the village.

White Gables is an elevated detached home which benefits from considerable privacy and seclusion and yet is only a short walk to the centre of Kippford village. It has a lovely position with views of the estuary, the hills beyond and private woodland to the rear. The villages of Kippford and Rockcliffe form the premier residential coastal area in Dumfries and Galloway. Much of this area of outstanding beauty is under the ownership of the National Trust for Scotland. Kippford is a picturesque sailing village and popular holiday destination which is situated four miles from Dalbeattie. There is no through road at Kippford, and thus limited traffic, which contributes to it's unique and peaceful setting. The village is home to the Solway Yacht Club and has two pubs, less than 5 minutes walk away, which offer food and accommodation. There is also a tea/gift shop (the Ark) on the water and an RNLI shop. The surrounding area offers a wide range of country pursuits including sailing, horse riding, mountain biking (7Stanes Dalbeattie), golfing and archery (Craigieknowes), fishing, shooting and numerous coastal and woodland walks as well as the sandy beaches, rocky coves and walks in the Galloway Hills.

This area of Dumfries and Galloway offers many annual events such as the Spring Fling, the Wigtown Book Fair, The Kirkudbright Art Trail, The Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival and various sailing regattas. The Galloway Night Sky Park, Threave Castle and Castle Douglas are only a short drive away. For bird lovers there are a plethora of sites including Mersehead (RSPB), Caerlaverock Wetlands Centre, the Galloway Red Kite Trail and Threave Ospreys. For the adventurous outdoor activities at The Lagan Outdoor Centre offers a wide variety of pursuits including zipwiring, clay pigeon shooting, water balling, and Loch Ken a variety of watersports.  The area is well renowned for it's coastal and hill walks - many starting from the house itself. The Jubilee Path to Rockcliffe starts in Kippford for a gentle walk, or for the more adventurous it goes all the way to Sandyhills and beyond. There is Course and Game Fishing available locally, and beautiful gardens such as Threave Castle to visit, with Sweetheart Abbey just a short drive away. The area is well known for its wildlife, and you are likely to see red squirrels, deer and all sorts of birds - often in the garden!
